Google I/O 2016 is held today. It updated Android and Android Wear, released Google Home, Daydream VR and its two applications.
Android N
Google did not release the final Android N version at this I/O conference. It made a update for its Android N dev. Google claimed that its performance, security and productivity have been improved a lot.
Android N optimized compiler that allows the apps run 3-6 times faster. It brought in a JIT compiler which enables the installation of apps run 75% faster.
Android N also applied the new encryption mode that could encryp the files respectively. Regarding the productivity, it updated more features that allow users to apply with ease.
Android Wear
Google updated its wearable device at this conference- Android Wear 2.0. The improvements include the Watch Face, Messages and Sports. It customized more personalized features for Watch Face. It added the the optimization of handwriting on messages feature. In terms of the sports feature, Google added Google Fit API port to support bluetooth music and sports identification.
Google Home
Google Home is a smart terminal devices that it made for intelligent families. It is small and exquisite. It looks like Google Assistant. Google Home could help users to handle the problem by starting conversations. It aims to help users to control family voice box, connect to lights and themosat and even more electronic appliances.
Daydream VR
VR technology becomes a popular topic this year. It is said that 2016 becomes the key year for VR technology. Many companies plan to explore business in VR industry. At this I/O conceference, Google introduced a Daydream VR platform.
This platform optimizes VR algorithm, decreases the effect of postponement and relieves the spinning sensation. It is compatible with smartphone and decreases its performance down to 20ms. In the meanwhile, Daydream VR is compatible with helmet device.
Allo and DUO
Two communications software are introduced to the public as well, they are instant messaging Allo and video call software Duo. Allo is a bit like the combination of Wechat and Instagram. Google developed many customized emojis. Allo can recognize the images and sender’s info.
Duo is featured with Knock Knock function. Users can preview the invitator’s situation before they accept a video call. Duo applies the exclusive QUIC agreements and supports WiFi and mobile internet connection.
